The British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA) supports the NBAA in refuting the recent report from The International Council on Clean Transport (ICCT) titled ‘Air and greenhouse gas pollution from private jets, 2023.
The report, as noted by the authors own admission, is based on inaccurate and unverified data “nearly 12% of the dataset lacks either departure or arrival information”. There is no evidence in the report on the effect of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), or indeed clean aviation advances. And yet business aviation is a significant driver towards JetZero. Innovation is in its DNA. Technologies like wing tips for fuel efficiency, composites, etc, all started in business aviation. Business Aviation has been an early adopter of SAF; our general aviation aircraft are helping to certificate new eVTOL designs, electric and hydrogen powered aircraft.
Business Aviation is a sector of transportation that connects communities offers regional connectivity and supports urgent medical and government missions. The ad-hoc / on demand nature of Business Aviation, which is an essential tool for business growth, connects destinations, 90% of which have no scheduled aviation route alternative.
